#ChloeGoesSummer – Week 0

The #ChloeGoesSummer challenge is about to officially start and in order to give you a real feeling of what we are talking about, I’m about to spill the beans…

If you haven’t read my blogpost about the #ChloeGoesSummer challenge yet, stop right here and first click on this link. It will guide you to my introduction post about this challenge of mine.

Go ahead, I’ll wait here… 😉
Now that you know all about #ChloeGoesSummer and about the journey that lies before me to become Chloé 2.0, let’s start by sharing the nitty-gritty details of my current physiological state.
As I said in my intro post, no woman likes to share her “number” publicly and I would appreciate your kindness, because it is taking quiet a bit of courage.
So here we go *takes a deep breath*
FITNESS STATUS : Let’s be honest, it’s pretty bad
CURRENT MOOD : Super motivated & excited for the challenge to officially start
As you can see, I started the challenge at 72 kg.
When I first surpassed the 70 kg mark, it hit me hard. I had always felt that a weight below 70 kg was still ok and that I was still within a range I could accept. But the moment I surpassed these 70 kg, I couldn’t pretend that it was ok anymore and I realised that something had to happen.
Now, don’t get me wrong, 70 kg isn’t bad per se, but for me, it was a limit I never thought I would cross.
I used to be very sporty. I was a gymnast for 10 years and a cheerleader for another 4 years during uni and hence, regular trainings were part of my life. And with it – quiet obviously – came a rather good physique.
A few years ago, I weighted about 55 kg and was super fit – which now seems like a life-time ago.
To prove to you that this isn’t a lie, please refer to the picture below…

Yep, that in the front is me at about 16 years old. Wasn’t I cute back then? 🙂

Ok, I admit that between this picture and today, puberty hit and some kilos that found their way onto my body might have been natural. But the majority have to do with me not having regular trainings and eating too many yummy things, that are so bad for you.

So here we are now, 12 years later and 16 kilos heavier and we – or rather I – am about to do something about this situation. Well, I can’t really do anything about the 12 years, as time travel hasn’t been invented yet, but the 16 kilos I can definitely work on.

In order to give you a visual of the current state, here is a before picture. For now you only get the photo with a shirt – you’ll get the ugly before pictures, where my tummy is showing, once I have amazing after pictures to show off with. Hey, a girl’s gotta keep some secrets!

As I have explained in my introduction post, I am getting help from The White Rabbit, which is a wonderful Health & Fitness Club in Bern, Switzerland.
Not only are they giving me the chance to train at their beautiful Club, they will also support me with regular personal trainings and nutritional advice.

I am going to train once a day, 6 days a week (!!!) for the next couple of months and have started my first week of training today.
It was a great workout and I felt so happy and excited once I completed my first official training. I think a slight bounce in my step was detectable once I left The White Rabbit.

Even though training has only started today, I have already started eating better two weeks ago, because I knew this project was going to start and I wanted to get on the right track as soon as possible.
So instead of eating sweets, drinking sodas and snacking way too often, I started crossing off deserts from my menu, drank at least 2 litres of water and only ate my 3 meals per day – or at least switched to healthy snacks when needed.

You won’t believe it, but I already lost 2 kg!

So now – after not even having started training and really changing my entire nutrition yet – I have already reached 69.9 kg!

This has made me so happy and has boosted my motivation so much – it’s the perfect start for #ChloeGoesSummer!

The next training is tomorrow, and for now, I am super excited to go. Check back in with me in a week when the next weekly update is due, to know if my motivation is still at such a high and what the scale is going to say…

I can’t wait to share the progress with you!
Have a lovely day dear!
